Colombia new confirmed number of coronavirus cases exceeds 1.07
million and exports in September are down 17.5%
The Colombian Ministry of Health : on October 31 that there were 11,033 new confirmed
cases of Covid-19 and 179 new deaths.
The total number of confirmed cases nationwide was 1074184, and the total number of deaths was 31,314.
The latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics of
Colombia shows that due to the impact of the pandemic on international market demand
Colombia’s oil and mineral exports fell sharply by 42.4% in September this year
but exports of coffee and other agricultural products have increased. Colombia’s total exports in September fell by 17.5% year-on-year.
From January to September this year, exports fell by 23.6% compared to the same period last year.
A report released by the International Monetary Fund this month predicts that due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the Latin American economy will shrink by 8.1% this year.
The report also stated that the region’s economic recovery will be very slow.
