French President Macron hosted a defense meeting on the morning of the 30th local time to discuss countermeasures to prevent terrorist attacks.
At a press conference after the meeting, French Interior Minister Dalmanin announced that from November 2nd, 3,500 reserve military police will be deployed nationwide and 3,500 police officers from the existing military police and mobile police force will be mobilized.
Macron previously announced that the strength of the French army participating in the “Sentinel” operation will be adjusted from 3,000 to 7,000.
French Defense Minister Pali said on the 30th that this deployment has been completed and that more troops will participate in street patrols, and schools and other places will be key areas for prevention.
French Foreign Minister Le Drian said that French citizens abroad are also at risk.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued warnings to French citizens overseas through its embassies and consulates abroad.
