Kuwait City, December 24 Kuwait’s Ministry of Health announced on the 24th that it would officially launch COVID-19 vaccination, planning to provide free vaccination for all citizens and residents in Kuwait within a few months.
Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sabah was vaccinated with the country’s first dose of coronavirus vaccine at the vaccination center on the same day, marking the official start of large-scale vaccination.
The vaccine is safe and the best solution to the COVID-19 pandemic, Says Sabah said, “the vaccine will last for months until it reaches all people.”
The Ministry of Health of Science and Technology said that the first batch of 150,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
in the country arrived in Kuwait on the 23rd, and the second batch of 450,000 doses will arrive in the first quarter of next year.
People in science and the United People can apply for COVID-19 vaccination online, and more than 70,000 applications have been received so far.
Priority vaccination groups include medical workers, firefighters, police, army officers and soldiers, elderly people over 65 years old and chronically ill patients.
According to the Ministry of Health on the 23rd, Kuwait has 266 new confirmed cases in the past day, with a total of 148,773 confirmed cases, 924 deaths and 144,594 cured cases.
