December 23rd local time, an explosion occurred in an office building in downtown Baltimore, injuring at least 21 people.
The building is the Baltimore City Gas and Electricity Building. After the explosion, part of the roof collapsed.
The Baltimore City Fire Department rushed to the scene after receiving an alarm call, when more than 20 victims were trapped in it.
Firefighters rescued 23 people from the building and took 21 of them to local medical institutions for treatment.
Of them, 9 were in critical condition and 1 was in serious condition.
According to the message from the office of Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott, there are no victims.
Some of the victims were cleaning the windows of the building at the time of the explosion.
The Baltimore City Gas and Electric Company said it did not think the explosion was related to gas, and was under construction on the building’s gas treatment and boiler system.
At present, the cause of the accident is under investigation.
