Moscow, December 22 On the European Union’s sanctions against Russia for the poisoning of Russian opposition personnel Navaline, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on the 22nd that Russia decided to expand the list of citizens of EU member states prohibited from entering Russia.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on its website saying that the restrictions imposed by the European Union on Russian citizens on the pretext of Navalline are illegal and unacceptable to Russia. Based on the principle of reciprocity, Russia decided to expand the list of citizens of EU member states prohibited from entering Russia. Those who gradually upgraded sanctions against Russia within the EU were included in the list.

The statement said that Germany, France, Sweden and the European Union have been notified of the relevant measures.

Navalline is a well-known Russian opposition figure. On August 20, he suddenly fell into a coma on the way to Moscow, and then the plane made an emergency landing in Omsk. Local doctors in Omsk said that no traces of poison were found in Navalline. After that, Navalline was taken to a hospital in Berlin, Germany, for treatment. Since then, laboratories in Germany, France, Sweden and other countries have confirmed that Navalline has been attacked by “Novichok”-like nerve agents.

Since then, in the case of Navalline, the European Union has imposed sanctions on many Russian citizens, including senior officials such as the Russian Federal Security Service, the Ministry of Defense, the Presidential Office and so on.

On December 21, Navaline talked to an investigator commissioned by the Western media to investigate the drug and released the recorded call. Among them, the investigator mentioned more details of Navaline poisoning.

On the 22nd, the press secretary of the Russian President Peskov said that Navaline showed persecution paranoia and what he did was an attempt to smear and would not succeed.
