According to comprehensive Russian media reports, Alexander “Sasha” Kagansky, a 45-year-old Russian scientist engaged in the development of a coronavirus vaccine, recently fell from a 14-story apartment in St. Petersburg.

Kaganski’s body was found by his neighbors in Zamshen Street, when he was wearing only underwear.

Russian police found a stab wound on the body, believing that he had an “argument” with others before falling, and his death may have been a murder.

According to the Russian newspaper “The Moscow Communist Youth League” (MK), the Russian commission of inquiry has launched a murder investigation and a 45-year-old male suspect has been detained.

According to the report, Dr. Kagansky is famous for his work in cancer research, and he is also an assistant professor.

The scientist is also closely related to the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, where he had worked for 13 years until 2017.

His most recent work was to serve as the director of the Center for Genome and Regenerative Medicine of the Russian Federal University of the Far East and continued to cooperate with universities in Scotland.

Some Russian media said that Dr. Kagansky had previously been “developed a vaccine against the coronavirus”.

He also recently received a grant from the Russian government to study new methods for diagnosing and treating malignant brain tumors and advocating for research on the use of herbs and mushrooms to treat cancer.

According to the British media The Sun, after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Kagansky was the first Russian representative to attend the European Youth Parliament. He was also a member of the Scottish Youth Academy of Sciences.
