A Santa Claus couple in Georgia, who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 after attending local Christmas parades and other activities, have had contact with dozens of children.
Robert Parker, chairman of Long County, Georgia, said at a press conference that two days after the end of a Long County Chamber of Commerce parade, a man and a woman who played the Santa Claus couple received their positive for COVID-19 on the 12th. Report.
U.S. media pointed out that after the parade, a Christmas tree lighting ceremony was also held, and the children had the opportunity to take a photo with Santa Claus as a souvenir.
Parker said that his children also took pictures with Santa Claus: “I can assure everyone that this pair of men and women who play Santa Claus will never deliberately do anything that puts any child at risk.”
Currently, Long County’s school system has required students who may be exposed to COVID-19 to stay at home until the holiday season ends.
