Beijing, December 14th – President Xi Jinping and Somali President Mohammed exchanged congratulatory telegrams on December 14 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Xi Jinping pointed out in his congratulatory telegram that in the 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, no matter how the international situation changes, China and Somalia have always understood, supported and helped each other.
During the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in September 2018, I reached an important consensus with President Mohammed on the development of China-SOM relations. After the outbreak of COVID-19, the two sides joined hands to fight the epidemic.
I attach great importance to the development of China-Soligo relations.
I am willing to work with you to take the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the Special Summit on China-Africa Solidarity and Anti-epidemic, strengthen the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative cooperation for the benefit of the two countries and peoples.
