December 13, local time, Iraqi military spokesman Yahya Rasul announced that the Iraqi counter-terrorism forces had successfully wiped out 42 members of extremist organizations in southern Mosul.
The operation lasted two days and was carried out with the technical support of the Iraqi intelligence services.
The counter-terrorism force accurately found the location of the extremist organization, forced it back into the hidden tunnels and caves, and then launched a concentrated attack and wiped it out.
After counting, the members of the extremist organizations killed in the operation included the extremist group’s “Governor of the Tigris Region” Balaia and his deputy Abu Mahmoud, and the head of the media management of the “Tigris Region” Abu Sayaf and his deputy Sagard.
The counter-terrorism force also discovered a large number of weapons, ammunition, and operating funds.
