UK nationally shortens self-isolation cycle to 10 days from the 14th

December 11th, BBC reported that the period of self-isolation after contact with confirmed patients with COVID-19 nationwide will be shortened from 14 days to 10 days nationwide.

The relevant regulations also apply to quarantined entry personnel entering the UK from high-risk countries and regions.

According to the report, the regulation was announced by Chris Whitty, England’s chief medical officer, on the same day and will take effect in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland on December 14.

Previously, the relevant regulations have been implemented in Wales.
