December 11th According to a report by South Japan News, in 2018, a man in Hichi City, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, brutally killed his father, grandmother and other five relatives. On the 11th, Kagoshima District Court sentenced him to death, which was the first time that the court had sentenced him to death.
A Japanese man was sentenced to death for killing five relatives.
The prisoner’s name is Tohiro Iwakura. According to Kagoshima District Court, Iwakura brutally strangled his father and grandmother at his grandmother’s house not far from his home in 2018. He buried the bodies of the two on a nearby mountain, and then killed three other relatives who came to visit his grandmother.
In previous trials, the prosecution has been demanding a death sentence, but the defense has requested a life sentence on the grounds that “he suffers from delusional disorder and his cognitive ability is significantly reduced”.
Hearing the sentence, he made a scene in court
In the judgment on the 11th, Judge Mitsuo Iwata found that Iwakura had committed “extra-reasonable cruel crimes” and sentenced him to death. When the judgment was handed down, Iwakura suddenly flew to the prosecutor’s seat and shouted, “I will never forgive you!” The victims’ families sat at the table crying and shouted “Stop it quickly”. The trial was adjourned amidst a riot.
This is the first death sentence imposed by Kagoshima District Court since the beginning of the trial in 2009. Overseas Network Wang Shanning)
