December 11 According to reports from many media, nine babies died in a hospital in Rajasthan, India, in 24 hours, which attracted widespread attention. Although the president of the hospital claimed that the relevant death was “natural”, the local health minister has ordered an investigation.
According to the Indian Newspaper Trust and Russian Satellite News Agency on the 11th, a total of nine babies died in the hospital from the morning of the 9th to the afternoon of the 10th, all of whom were born only one to four days.
The family of the dead baby accused the hospital of medical negligence and claimed that when they brought the children to the hospital, no one was looking after them. In response, Suresh Dulara, the director of the hospital, claimed that the death was a “natural situation” and that the deaths of these babies were not abnormally caused or infected.
In response to this incident, Rajasthan Health Minister Raghu Sharma has asked the hospital to investigate the infant death: “I have given instructions that no child should die due to the negligence of doctors”.
Indian media pointed out that this is not the first time that a large-scale infant death has occurred in this hospital. As of December 2019, the hospital had over 100 babies killed, causing a stir within India, which was reported to be linked to hospital negligence.
