Nissan no longer supports Trump in California auto emissions lawsuit

by YCPress

According to Kyodo News Agency, Nissan and General Motors (GM), which support the Trump administration and join the lawsuit, have changed their attitude and announced their withdrawals recently around the lawsuit between the Trump administration and the California government to limit automobile exhaust emissions.

President-designate Biden proposed that a large number of jobs would be created through the development of electric vehicles, and plans to raise environmental standards, which was intended to comply with the regime transition.

According to Reuters, Nissan issued a statement on the 4th: “I believe that there can be constructive dialogue between the auto industry and the next and the governments of Biden and California to propose unified standards (to limit exhaust emissions].”

The lawsuit originated from the agreement reached by the California government last July with four car companies, including Ford and Honda, to introduce stricter exhaust emission standards than those of the Trump administration.

The Trump administration subsequently announced the abolition of California’s authority, and the state government and others filed a lawsuit against it.
