On November 19 last year, Sabah Khalid, then Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kuwait, was appointed Prime Minister by Sabah, then the Emir of Kuwait, to form a new government. The new government was formed on December 17 last year and is in power on December 6 this year.
On the 6th, the results of the 16th National Assembly election in Kuwait were announced. According to the Kuwaiti Constitution, after the election results of the National Assembly are announced, the Kuwaiti Cabinet must resign to the Emir, who then appoints a new Prime Minister to form a new cabinet.
On the same day, Sabah Khalid submitted a collective resignation from the cabinet to Nawaf and was approved. Nawaf asked the cabinet to continue to deal with emergency affairs until a new cabinet was formed.
