December 8th local time, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said at the plenary session and board meeting of the Russian Council on International Affairs that Western countries are trying to prestige the United Nations.
Lavrov pointed out that the Western countries have put forward the notorious concept of the so-called “rule-based world order”. But this rule is proposed in various small exchanges.
The EU formulates rules in its narrow circle and does not widely consult with United Nations agencies. These organs of the United Nations are currently in a difficult period, and the West is doing everything possible to erase their authority: put their will above these institutions by “privatizing” the agency secretariat, as we have seen in the OPCW; and when this cannot be achieved, the West will put Related topics are excluded from the organizational framework of the United Nations and international conventions.
