On behalf of Syrian President Bashar and the Syrian people, Mekdad expressed deep condolences to the assassinated Iranian nuclear physicist Fakrizad and senior revolutionary guard general Suleimani.
He said that the recent U.S. initiatives in the region are fundamentally aimed at catering to Israel’s interests, which will lead to increased regional tensions. Mekdad reaffirmed Syria’s determination to continue to combat terrorism and said that cooperation with Iran in this regard is crucial, which is also a key step for Syria to restore peace and stability.
