December 5th – According to a survey jointly conducted by YouGov and the Department of Political and International Studies (POLIS) of the University of Cambridge, 68% of Chinese said that their country’s social cohesion has increased since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, the highest proportion of people in all the countries surveyed.

Data from YouGov and the Cambridge Globalism Project show that the most cohesive people in the face of the epidemic are Chinese residents. Sixty-eight percent of Chinese said that China’s overall social cohesion has increased, the highest proportion of all countries.
The second is Brazilians, accounting for 64%, and Thailand ranks third with 51%.
On the other hand, according to the official website of YouGov, only 19% of Americans believe that the people in the United States have come closer since the beginning of the epidemic, and the majority (55%) believe that social cohesion has deteriorated.
Similar to Americans, Nigerians (59%) and South Africans (55%) think that people are farther away from each other than before. It is reported that the survey was conducted from July 30 to August 24 this year and covered respondents from 25 countries.
