The data keeps climbing. California, the United States, has recorded three new coronavirus pandemic records, including the number of new cases in a single day.
On December 4th, local time, according to the statistics of the California Department of Public Health, the number of new cases, hospitalizations and admissions to intensive care units in California hit a new high on the 4th.
According to the statistics on the 4th, 2,2018 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were added in California, setting a new single-day infection record in California. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of confirmed cases in California has reached at least 1,286,557. Hospitalizations have also reached their highest level so far, with more than 9,940 hospitalized patients, of which more than 2,200 patients are treated in intensive care units (ICUs).
ICU capacity is a threshold that triggers California to launch a new stay-at-home quarantine order. In the five districts divided by California, if the ICU capacity of any of the areas drops below 15%, California will initiate a new stay-at-home order. At present, no area has reached this gap.
Currently, California has an average of about 210,000 tests per day, and the current positive rate is about 7.5%.
