On December 4th local time, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health of Uruguay, Uruguay has 284 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in a single day, the highest new daily record in the country so far.
Of the new cases on that day, 208 came from the capital Montevideo. In the past seven days, an average of 10.46 new cases were confirmed in a single day for 100,000 residents, so the pandemic risk level of Montevideo rose from yellow to orange.
President Lakale Pou recently announced that in view of the recent surge in the number of confirmed cases in the country, public institutions across Ukraine will restart the home office mode by December 18, and advised private enterprises to arrange employees to work from home as much as possible; bars and restaurants must be closed at 12 p.m.; and all forms of indoor sports activities must be suspended.
Public transportation needs to strictly implement the state’s compulsory wearing of masks and control the number of passengers; all kinds of schools shall continue to attend classes until the end of this semester under the premise of strictly implementing pandemic prevention measures, but shall not hold graduation ceremonies and other gathering activities; the central government will strengthen the inspection and supervision of legal gatherings with provincial governments to ban illegal activities.
Gather and increase the punishment for activities that violate pandemic prevention regulations.
The Ukrainian government will reassess the pandemic situation and adjust the pandemic prevention measures according to the circumstances on December 18.
