December 3rd local time, the Spanish House of Representatives voted to approve the government’s proposed draft national budget for 2021 by 188 votes in favor and 154 against, which will be submitted to the Senate for further consideration.
The Spanish government’s draft national budget for 2021 includes 23.9765 billion euros of expenditure on social services and 7.33 billion euros on health care, both of which are the country’s record highs, while budget investment in the fields of employment, housing and the digital economy has also increased.
In terms of taxation, the personal income tax of high-income people, social security tax and asset tax of large enterprises will be raised. Spanish Prime Minister Sánchez stressed that the draft budget will be a key part of Spain’s post-epidemic economic recovery.
