Iran plans to put the coronavirus vaccine into production in the spring of 2021, and human trials have been carried out.
According to the IFP on December 2, Iran’s health minister Said Namaki said that Iran plans to put a coronavirus vaccine into production in the spring of 2021, which has been tested in humans.
“We have pre-ordered 16.8 million COVID-19 vaccines from the World Health Organization’s COVAX project and jointly produced them with other countries. Clinical trials of these vaccines have been carried out in Iran,” Namaki told IJ during the meeting of the Iran’s Coronavirus Vaccines Committee.
Namaki added, “To date, no vaccine company has obtained WHO production certificates. Some vaccine manufacturers are in the final stage of WHO certification, and once they are certified, I hope to pre-order vaccines from them.”
