An Egyptian photographer was arrested by local police for taking pictures of female Internet celebrities in ancient Egyptian costumes in front of the pyramid.
The British website “Middle East Eye” reported on the 2nd that the female Internet celebrity named Salma Shimi is an Egyptian fashion model with nearly 80,000 fans on Facebook.
Not long ago, the photos she shared publicly on social platforms caused heated discussion. In the photo, she wears ancient Egyptian costumes and concaves various shapes in front of the 4,700-year-old ladder pyramid.
Netizens who have seen these photos have complained about Himi’s “injustice” and questioned the existence of “double standards” by the police, because foreign models and tourists have previously had similar posing behaviors without being punished.
Hime himself was also angry about this matter, claiming that he had done it to promote the development of the local tourism industry. Waziri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Egyptian Antiquities, said that the police have launched an investigation and any behavior that is detrimental to the protection of Egyptian cultural relics and monuments will be punished.
