Lebanese security sector: Israel sets up new buoys in the disputed sea area
According to local media reports, on the 1st, Lebanese security services said that the Israeli army installed a new naval buoy in Lebanese waters in the Ras al-Naqoura area, marking that it occupied about 860 square kilometers of disputed areas between the two sides.
Sources said that Israel tried to force Lebanon to recognize the border line by setting up buoys and waiting for a UNIFIL response.
The first round of talks on Lebanon-Israeli maritime delimitation negotiations was launched in Naqura, southern Lebanon, on 14 October, with a view to laying the foundation for the joint development of maritime energy by the two sides.
At present, there are four rounds of talks, and the two sides mainly negotiate on the disputed triangular sea area of Lebanon and Israel, covering an area of about 860 square kilometers. The new round of talks was originally scheduled to be held on the 2nd, but on the 30th, the Lebanese and Israeli sides announced that the talks would be postponed at a time to be determined.
