Cambodia’s Ministry of Health reported that the director of the General Administration of Prisons Sam Savan (56 years old), his wife (56 years old) and four family members have tested positive for nucleic acid and are currently receiving treatment in Russian hospitals.
It is reported that in the past week, Samsavan has met at the Ministry of the Interior, attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Su Qing, Deputy Prime Minister Ben Cheng, Minister of Justice Gau Le, Director-General of the National Police, Neshavin, etc. They will be tested for nucleic acid and quarantine at home. His wife and family have gone shopping in Phnom Penh’s Aeon 1 shopping mall, and went to Siem Reap and Pside Mien Province.
Cambodia’s Ministry of Health has traced a group of contacts. In order to curb large-scale community transmission, the Ministry of Health has stipulated that all contacts must be quarantined at home or isolation points and must not move around. Cambodian officials have temporarily closed the Aeon 1 shopping mall and called on contacts who have recently visited the Aeon 1 shopping mall to go to the sampling site for nucleic acid testing.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen stressed that although the epidemic has entered the community transmission stage, the government will not announce the closure of schools for the time being. At the same time, he said that he would keep an eye on the epidemic situation and take urgent measures if necessary.
As of the morning of November 29, a total of 315 cases have been confirmed and 301 cases have been cured in Cambodia.
