9 cases of mutant COVID-19 infection have been confirmed in Madrid, Spain

According to a report by the public health department of Madrid, the capital of Spain, on January 2 local time, so far, the region has confirmed a total of 9 cases of mutant COVID-19 previously found in the United Kingdom, and another 30 suspected cases are being confirmed under study.

“There is already a high level of transmission of mutant COVID-19 in the region, so the health department has developed an early detection plan for the mutant virus, which will be sampled for residents entering the UK,” Zapatero, the deputy minister of public health in the region, said at a press conference.
