According to the statistics of the Central Anti-epidemic Response Headquarters of South Korea, as of 00:00 local time on December 6, there were 631 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Korea, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases rose to 37,546.
The number of new confirmed cases in a single day increased by 48 compared with the previous day (583), and exceeded 600 again in two days. The 631 cases are the highest number of confirmed cases in a single day after the “third pandemic” of the COVID-19 epidemic in South Korea, and the third highest daily number of confirmed cases in history after reaching 909 and 686 cases at the peak of the “first pandemic” on February 29 and March 2, respectively.
Judging from the infection route of newly confirmed cases, 599 cases occurred in the region and 32 imported cases overseas. The number of cases occurring in the region increased by 40 compared with the previous day (559).
