11 May 2021 local media reported that dozens of villagers in the village of Guerdu in the Karan Anyar region of Central Java, Indonesia, at a mosque, the next day 59 people felt unwell, vomiting, diarrhea and other symptoms.
The villagers were taken to a local hospital, where a 70-year-old man died, initially identified as collective food poisoning.
