According to Slovenian media reports on January 10, the Slovenian Police Union announced that 5,000 policemen are expected to participate in the strike on the 11th until an agreement is reached with the government.
The reason for the strike was that the government deprived the police of two rights to higher salaries.
Rok Cvetko, president of the Police Union, said that during the strike, the police will ensure a minimum workflow to ensure the safety of life and property and meet international obligations.
Slovenian Interior Minister Hawes said he would talk to the union but would not accept the threat.
