According to US media reports, vicious shootings occurred in many cities in the United States from the evening of the 16th to the early morning of the 17th.
A Chicago police spokesperson said that on the evening of November 16, local time, at least seven independent vicious shootings occurred in Chicago, resulting in gunshot wounds to at least 23 people, including a 5-year-old boy and three teenagers.
It is reported that at about 19:30 that day, while the 5-year-old boy was playing on the sofa at home, someone drove across the street and fired at nearby residential areas.
The boy’s sister rushed up immediately after hearing the gunfire and found that he had been shot in the head.
At present, the boy has been sent to the hospital for treatment.
Chicago police said the case is under further investigation and no suspects have been arrested.
