4 militants killed in crossfire in Indian-controlled Kashmir
In the early morning of the 19th local time, according to news from the Indian Asia International News Agency, near a national highway in the Nagta area of Indian-controlled Kashmir, four militants, possibly from the Muhammad Army, hid in a truck and exchanged fire with Indian security forces. Two militants were killed and two policemen were injured.
The police said the militants were probably “planning a large-scale attack” and they were heading towards the Kashmir valley.
The police stated that at about 4:20 am on the 19th, the truck that the militants were riding in was intercepted during a routine inspection of the roads near Jammu City.
The armed forces had obtained information in advance that the militants were about to enter the Nagta area. Nearby surveillance video showed an explosion in the truck when the two sides exchanged fire.
