The U.S. Department of Justice announced on January 8 local time that a total of 13 people are currently facing federal charges for protesting against the conflict in the Capitol on the 6th.
The Department of Justice said that in addition to those already charged, there are other complaints “submitted” and “investigations are under way”.
Michael Sherwin, acting prosecutor in charge of Washington, D.C., said: “My office, together with our law enforcement partners at all levels, has been working quickly,
using all resources to identify, arrest and start prosecuting these in the U.S. Congress.
