13 cases of COVID-19 variant strain infection found in New York City, USA

February 2nd, local time, New York City Health Commissioner Dave Jokshi issued a statement saying that New York City had found 13 cases of COVID-19 Variant strains found in the United Kingdom.

The city is “very closely monitoring” according to Jokshi, but the city has not yet found any other coronavirus variant strains.

New York City Mayor De Blasio said that the city reported positive rate of COVID-19 on the 2nd was 8.20%, 4,585 new cases, and at least 206 patients with COVID-19 were hospitalized, but De Blasio said that the hospitalization rate was generally declining.
