Yoshihide Suga’s cabinet approval rate drops 9%

January 11th, Kyodo News reported that the results of a telephone public opinion survey conducted from 9 to 10 this month showed that the approval rate of the cabinet of Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga was 41.3%, which was 9 percentage points lower than the survey result in December last year.

Regarding the government’s response to the Coronavirus, 68.3% of the people “not praised”. 

Regarding the Tokyo Olympics, 35.3% of the respondents believed that it should be suspended, and 44.8% believed that it should be postponed again.
