At the invitation of President Putin of the Russian Federation,
President Xi Jinping will attend the 20th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the
Shanghai Cooperation Organization and deliver an important speech in Beijing on November 10.
The meeting is hosted by Russia, the rotating chairman of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and will be held by video.
This is the first time President Xi Jinping has attended a summit of multilateral
organizations after the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
It is also China’s major multilateral diplomatic action for the Eurasian region this year. It is of great significance.
