New Delhi city officials said that after several regions such as Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi will also impose curfews from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. every night from the 27th to curb the worsening of the COVID-19 epidemic in the region.
The official said that not long ago, New Delhi’s daily confirmed cases of COVID-19 had been controlled below 100; however, recently, this figure has nearly tripled, reaching the highest level in six months in the region.
According to the data of the health department of New Delhi on the 26th, there were 290 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 24 hours a day.
Up to now, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the local area has exceeded 1.44 million, and the cumulative number of deaths has exceeded 25,000.
In addition, New Delhi is also one of the regions most affected by Omickjon mutant strains in India, with a total of 79 cases of Omicjon infection, second only to 108 in Uttar Pradesh.
