WHO: Vaccination does not guarantee the eradication of COVID-19

by YCPress

UNnews reported on the 28th that the World Health Organization held its last press conference of the year on the coronavirus pandemic in Geneva today.

Several senior officials have warned that COVID-19 is “not necessarily a supervirus” and that there is a possibility of another more severe pandemic spreading in the future.

WHO officials say it may be too early to imagine a world that has eliminated the novel coronavirus.

David Heymann said that the novel coronavirus is likely to survive and continue to affect the global population. Vaccination does not guarantee the eradication of this infectious disease.

He concluded that better results would be achieved if society focused on regaining its full strength rather than “blindly expecting to eliminate the virus”.
