On December 6, an outbreak of unknown diseases broke out in and around the city of Eluru. Symptoms of the disease include seizures for 3 to 5 minutes, memory loss within minutes, sudden fainting, headache and back pain.

Previously, it was reported that a team of experts from the National Institute of Nutrition, the Institute of Chemical Technology and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences had been sent to the city to investigate the cause of the disease. Experts are testing collected water samples, food, urine and blood samples.

Previously, the Office of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, India, announced that drug and nickel poisoning in lead may be the cause of this mysterious disease, and traces of both substances have been found in water and milk. The report also said that this is only preliminary data and needs to wait for the results of further research.
