December 16th – White House officials confirmed on the 15th local time that Derek Lyons, one of the closest aides of US President Trump and Secretary-General of the White House Secretariat, resigned later this month.
According to the Capitol Hill, Lyon has held multiple positions in the White House in the past few years and now deals with the message to Trump as Secretary-General. In a press release, Lyon also thanked him for the opportunity to work in the White House.
U.S. media pointed out that many senior officials have left since December. Alyssa Farah, director of the White House Communications Liaison Office, resigned in early December and said she would leave the White House in search of new opportunities. Attorney General William Barr will leave next week.
