President Xi Jinping’s video speech at the opening ceremony of the 17th China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit aroused a warm response from people from all walks of life.

Everyone said that President Xi Jinping’s speech pointed out the direction of the development of China-ASEAN relations in the new stage of development, which is conducive to the two sides to accelerate the process of regional economic integration and create a more prosperous and better future together.

Xi Jinping stressed that in 2013, I proposed to build the Maritime Silk Road in the 21st century with ASEAN countries and work together to build a closer China-ASEAN community of destiny.

Over the past seven years, China-ASEAN relations have become the most successful and dynamic model in Asia-Pacific regional cooperation, and a vivid example of promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Zhang Shaogang, Vice President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade: I think the General Secretary’s speech is ambitious and profound, which is of great guiding significance for strengthening China’s economic and trade cooperation with ASEAN and creating a common and better future. After listening to the General Secretary’s speech, everyone was encouraged and excited.

Jiang Liansheng, Director of the Commerce Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region: General Secretary Xi Jinping made an important speech, which strengthened our confidence in carrying out higher levels of economic and trade cooperation. We should also continue to promote industrial and production capacity cooperation, promote the facilitation of our investment and trade, and further build an important node hub of domestic and international dual cycles.

We will promote the construction of interconnection channels with higher voltage levels and neighboring countries, so that our green energy can inject new impetus into the socio-economic development of the region.

Wu Xiaojun, Chairman of Nanning International Railway Port Investment and Development Co., Ltd.: In his speech, General Secretary Xi proposed to actively build a China-ASEAN Multimodal Transport Alliance by relying on the construction of new land and sea corridors. We will earnestly implement the spirit of the General Secretary’s important speech, accelerate the construction of infrastructure for new land and sea corridors, and further deepen the international cooperation between China and ASEAN.

Xi Jinping stressed that China will unswervingly expand its opening up to the outside world, enhance the domestic and international economic linkage effect, and drive the world’s common recovery with its own recovery, from which all countries in the world, including ASEAN, will benefit. Looking ahead, China and ASEAN will have more room for cooperation.

Peng Gang, Director of the Asia Department of the Ministry of Commerce: In his speech, President Xi Jinping specifically stressed that we should unswervingly further expand opening up to the outside world, and use our own economic recovery to drive the overall recovery of the world economy and promote common development.
