January 11th – Riots in the U.S. Congress continue to cause security concerns. Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser wrote to Trump on the 10th local time, urging to ensure the safety of Biden’s inauguration.

According to CNN, Bowser wrote to Trump on the 10th, asking him to issue a declaration of emergency, with the aim of providing additional funds for the safety of Biden’s inauguration.

In the letter, she wrote: “In view of the attack on the American Congress Building and intelligence indicating that there may be further violence during the inauguration ceremony, our government (the Washington, D.C. government) has reassessed the preparations for the inauguration ceremony, including a request for an extension of support for the Washington National Guard. Until January 24th.”

Bowser further mentioned, “I have determined that the resources previously allocated to the inauguration ceremony are not enough to create a safe and reliable environment due to the consequences of the January 6 riots.

According to the assessment, we must prepare for a large number of trained armed extremists to Washington.”

U.S. media said that Bowser’s letter reflected that security risks were widespread in the U.S. capital and throughout the country after the congressional riots.
