On the 18th, Robert Kiagulani Sentam, the presidential candidate of Uganda’s opposition National Unity Platform Party, was arrested for violating epidemic prevention guidelines while participating in the presidential election campaign in Luka District, East, which triggered a series of violent protests. Robert Kiagulani Sentam, who was arrested on bail on bail on the 20th.

Violent protests in Uganda have killed at least 49 people

Uganda police said on November 23 local time that the violent protests in Uganda have caused at least 49 deaths.

On the 18th, Ugandan opposition national unity program party presidential candidate Robert Kiagulani Sentamu was arrested for violating epidemic prevention guidelines while participating in a presidential campaign in the eastern Luka district.

This incident triggered a series of violent protests. The arrested Robert Chiagulani Sentam was released on bail on the 20th. It is understood that Uganda will hold presidential elections on January 14 next year. 

On November 3, the Uganda Election Commission announced 11 presidential candidates including the current President Museveni.
