United Nations: Will continue to support the reform and reconstruction framework for Lebanon
According to local media reports on the 19th, Kubis, the special coordinator of the United Nations Secretary-General for Lebanon, reported to the Security Council on the implementation of Resolution 1701.
Kubis emphasized the importance of continuing to support UNIFIL; at the same time, he urged Lebanon to form a government as soon as possible, implement the French initiative, and implement reforms to solve the economic, financial and social crises and prepare for the 2022 elections.
In addition, Kubis reiterated that the Beirut port bombing incident should be investigated and held accountable in a fair, comprehensive and transparent manner.
At the same time, he welcomed the assistance and support provided by the international community to Lebanon after the port bombing.
The United Nations will continue to support cooperation with the World Bank and the World Bank.
