December 19th, local time, United Nations Secretary-General Guterres issued a statement through a spokesman, strongly condemning the recent bombing attack in Somalia.

Guterres expressed his deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

He hopes that the perpetrators of this attack can be brought to justice.

Guterres reiterated the full support of the United Nations to the people and government of Somalia in combating terrorism, violent extremism and organized crime and building a stable, peaceful and prosperous country.
