According to a report by the Russian News Agency on the 22nd, Zinovi Swereda, a Ukrainian political scholar and doctor of socioeconomics, said in an interview with Ukrainian television that the Kiev authorities should formulate a military strategy to “liberate” Crimea and Donbas.
He believes that the so-called “Normandy model” (referring to the Russian-Germany, French and Ukrainian summit to mediate the situation in Ukraine) is useless.
Germany and France have repeatedly blurred their positions in the negotiations, so the United States and Britain must be involved in the dialogue on Ukraine.
Svelieda continued, “In addition, whether we think so or not, Ukraine must have its own offensive strategy.
We must shift, stay away from defensive strategies and look our opponents in the eye.” Specific measures he proposed included “blowning up the Kerch Bridge” and creating a “New Pearl Harbor Incident” for the Russian fleet.
The political scholar said, “The true defense is patriotic, and the people are unwilling to surrender under any conditions, restore their own army, or even establish their own space army.”
He believes that Ukraine can only be compared with developed countries in protecting its own interests in this way, when Britain and the United States will regard Ukraine as partners.
According to the Russian News Agency, this is not the first time that Ukrainian experts and the military have made ambitious statements.
Previously, Alexander Tuchnov, the former secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, claimed that the Ukrainian R-360 Neptune cruise missile could destroy Russian ships in the Black Sea and Azov, as well as the Crimean Bridge, in a few minutes.
Ukrainian military expert Mikhail zhrokhov also claimed that Neptune missiles can attack Russian ships in Novorosisk.
In order to avoid Russian “aggression”, Sveleda had previously proposed to sell land on Ukraine’s eastern border to American companies.
In response to the remarks of Ukrainian scholars, Dmitry Belich, a member of the Russian State Duma, said that if the Ukrainian side of formulating a provocation plan against Russia risks creating the “Pearl Harbor Incident” in Crimea, Kiev will inevitably suffer a disaster.
Bellick said, “The Pearl Harbor incident has become a global disaster for Japan. If such an incident happens, Russia’s response will be equally tough. Ukrainian experts sitting on the sofa paint an absurd picture of the Russian fleet’s fiasco in Crimea, but in the real world, the opposite is true.
I think the Ukrainian General Staff knows what the end of the target of the attack on Crimea, and unlike this political scholar, they know the consequences of Russia’s military response.”
He pointed out that Russia’s military and political leadership had warned that Russia’s response to strike meant destroying not only incoming missiles, but also decision-making centers.
“So if Ukraine launches missiles into Crimea, these missiles will be destroyed before entering our airspace, and then ‘calibre’ or ‘Iskander”. The missile will fly to its launch site.
Those who issued orders to attack the Crimea Peninsula in the office are also waiting for the arrival of missile guests.
Russian military expert Yuri Knutov said that if Ukrainian armed forces attack Crimea, Russian troops will not only attack people in the Crimea Peninsula, but also attack enemy bases and headquarters.
Pavel Danilin, director of the Russian Centre for Political Analysis, criticized the Ukrainian scholar’s proposal and questioned his intelligence.
Danilin said that the idea of creating the “New Pearl Harbor Incident” was doomed to failure from the beginning, because the Russian fleet is not only stationed in Sevastopol, but also in Novorosistsk in the Black Sea, and has air cover.
Danilin believes that Sveleda’s remarks are like an attempt to take advantage of Ukrainian nationalist sentiments, and his criticism of the “Normandy model” is also not constructive, because Ukraine has not complied with the Minsk Agreement.
Crimean leader Sergei Aksenov said that the call for the creation of “Pearl Harbor incident” and “occupation” Crimea for Russia shows that the Ukrainian political scholar is “stupid and retarded”, but can be seen as a call for terrorism.
He said, “Obviously, the ‘dreadnought’ sofa wufu forgot or did not know how the Pearl Harbor incident ended for Japan.
I think this kind of ‘inspiration’, regardless of its stupidity, can be regarded as war propaganda and a call for terrorism.”
