Ukraine’s International News Agency reported on the 4th that the Ukrainian State Border Service is verifying the exchange of fire in the border area with Russia.
Andriy Demchenko, spokesman of the State Border Service of Ukraine, said that the Border Service is currently further identifying the situation and will hold relevant meetings.
Dmchenko said that the Ukrainian border forces did not record any shooting incidents in the border area with Russia, and the Russian side did not immediately notify the Ukrainian border forces of any abnormal situation.
Previously, according to Russian media reports, three unidentified armed men attempted to cross the border from Ukraine to Bergorod-Voronezh, Russia, on the 4th local time.
After being found by the Russian border guards, the three men resisted militantly. One of them was killed in the exchange of fire, and the other two fled back to Ukraine.
