Ukraine has been asking for help with U.S.-made long-range rockets for several months, and the United States refuses

May 19 – According to three sources quoted by Politico News Network on the 18th, Ukrainian government officials have been asking the United States for U.S. long-made long-range multi-barrel rockets for months, but the U.S. government has always rejected this request.

Long-range rocket launchers are the highest-level weapon requested by Ukraine in months. Ukrainian military and civilian officials have repeatedly raised their needs with the United States, which are still closely discussed between the United States and Ukraine. Sources said that although the United States has provided $3.8 billion worth of military assistance to Ukraine, these weapons cannot reach Ukraine quickly, and the United States will make a decision after judging the utility of the weapons.

The United States currently provides Ukraine with old multi-launch rockets during the Cold War, which Ukraine is not satisfied with. It requires the United States to provide more powerful U.S.-made weapons, such as the M270 multi-launch rocket system. The United States is worried that Ukraine will use it to attack Russia and spill over the conflict, and the current momentum of military assistance to Ukraine has eased.
