US Special Counsel John Durham released a report on May 15 local time, saying that the FBI had “serious flaws” in launching an investigation into Trump’s 2016 campaign’s ties to Russia. Investigate without solid evidence.
According to the “Guardian” report, Durham released a 306-page latest report on the 15th, accusing the FBI of relying on unconfirmed information to investigate Trump’s alleged collusion with Russia. Usually there is a very clear difference in how it works. The report found that the FBI had a “double standard” in handling the Trump case and the case related to Democrat Hillary Clinton.
After Durham’s report was released, Trump responded on his social media platform “Truth Social” (Truth Social), saying, “The American public has been deceived.” As an ally of Trump, the chairman of the Ohio House Judiciary Committee Jim Jordan said they had opened their own investigations into the FBI and Justice Department’s “weaponized” investigations against Trump and Republicans.
The release of the report marks the end of an internal investigation launched by the Justice Department in May 2019, according to the Associated Press. Four years ago, then-Attorney General Barr appointed senior prosecutor Durham to continue the reverse investigation of Russia’s alleged interference in the U.S. election.
