U.S. senator revealed that his office was ransacked: the computer was stolen and there were cigarette butts on the table

January 8th – Senator Jeff Merkelly, a Democrat from Oregon, tweeted on the 7th that protesters who broke into the U.S. Capitol on the 6th robbed his office and stole a laptop.

The Capitol reported on the 7th that the senator uploaded a video of his office in a mess after the riots in the Capitol, and said that a laptop originally on the conference table had disappeared.

Merkelly said in the video that he did not lock the door because he would come in and out when Congress met that night to confirm the results of the electoral college vote.

Although the door was open, the protesters “almost smashed the door off the hinge”.

He also showed his ransacked office, including paintings sent by others who were torn off the wall, and a cigarette butt that went out on the table, and a “Trump 2020″ flag was thrown in the corner.” You can see that the ground is full of garbage. Merkley said.

U.S. media quoted security and espionage experts as saying that theft of congressman’s notebooks may lead to the leakage of highly sensitive information, and some people may use these materials to threaten the national security of the United States.

Merckley’s office was not the only one who was ransacked by protesters.

Another protester was photographed sitting at the desk of House Speaker Pelosi, putting his foot on her desk, and finally taking an envelope with Pelosi’s name on it.
