January 8th local time, the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Rules announced that they would hold a hearing on the 6th Congress House protesting against the failure of public security management in the conflict.

“An attack on the Capitol is an attack on every American,” the chairman and senior member of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Rules wrote in a statement.

We plan to review these terrorist attacks and hold bipartisan hearings, working together to implement the necessary reforms to ensure that this will not happen again.”

Steven Sund, the chief of police of the U.S. Capitol, was criticized for his lack of preparation for the protest conflict on the 6th and resigned.

The House Appropriations Committee and the Executive Committee have oversight over the Congressional Police, and they have expressed their intention to investigate the 6th incident.
