U.S. gun sales in October break a record increase of over 60%
November 3rd. A data report released on the 2nd local time showed that gun sales in the United States surged in October, a year-on-year increase of more than 60%.
According to the “Capitol Hill” report, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) released data analysis from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on the 2nd
and the results showed that gun sales in October broke the highest record in October of previous years.
Compared with the sales volume exceeding 1.1 million in October 2019, the sales volume in October 2020 exceeded 1.7 million, an increase of 60.1% year-on-year.
The survey also found that each month’s sales since March this year have broken past records.
This year’s gun sales statistics have exceeded the 2016 annual record.
As of now, the sales background investigation of 1,720 guns has been completed in 2020
compared with 15.7 million in 2016 and nearly 13.2 million in 2019.
In addition, data from another US organization, “Analysis and Forecast of Small Arms” (SAAF)
also showed that US gun sales in October were 1.9 million, an increase of 65% over the same time in 2019.
